The Empty Bowls Project combines art with a simple lunch bringing awareness of hunger in our community.

Empty Bowls Project is a pottery art project conducted by the Art Teachers in the Hillsborough Country District 6 Schools and their students. They mold the bowls and later decorate them, the bowls will later be placed on sale and the proceeds will go to the United Food Bank of Plant City.

Making the empty bowls is to symbolize all of the Empty Bowls that go unfilled every day and the people who are left hungry across the world and also right here in our own community.

The Plant City Juniors help promote the event by selling tickets, set up a booth to sell homemade baked goods and sell soft drinks in conjunction with United food Bank to raise funds for The Empty Bowls Project.
